POINT DE VUE

Museum Piece

"The angle of a shot changes our usual way of seeing things."
— Albert Plécy

Point de vue is a performance that seeks to deepen the way we look at space, people, artworks, and the many wonders that surround us. It aims to highlight certain spaces that the eye is not prepared to see, does not wish to linger on, or simply does not know where to focus. A shooting angle, a distance—these can transform perception entirely. Just like in high-angle or low-angle shots—technical terms from photography and cinema—used precisely to express emotion, sensation, and intention.

Artistic Objectives

The Gallo-Roman Museum, made up of several rooms across multiple levels, offers a wide variety of viewing angles. We will make use of these by guiding the audience through different spaces, subtly encouraging them to see both the museum's works and the performances from an unusual perspective. The project will use the main hall of the permanent exhibitions, the walkways, the central hall (upper level), and the temporary exhibition space.

This is a moving performance, where the performers create visual connections between spectator and performer, between performers themselves, and between spectators. A connection that is not private, but charged with emotion, sensation, and intention.
